Fare Sniper

Why have I not had any alerts?

Either no price beat your target, or nothing was searched. Check the run log and the last-priced timestamp on the watch: if the route was scanned and nothing qualified, that is a finding. If it was never scanned, that is a fault and we want to hear about it.

Silence has two completely different causes and it matters a great deal which one you have.

  1. Nothing qualified. The route was searched, prices were recorded, and none of them beat your target or the recent median. That is a real answer. The price history on the journey page will show it.
  2. Nothing was searched. The scan did not run, the request budget was exhausted, or the provider was failing. That is a fault, not a finding.

How to tell which one you have

  • Open the watch. If it shows a recent priced-at timestamp and a price history, it is being searched.
  • Check the request budget meter in the header. If it is full, searches were refused today and will resume when the window rolls over.
  • Look at the run log on the overview page. A run that ended in an error is the second case.

If it was searched and still nothing came

  • Your target may be below anything that route has ever sold for. Compare it with the median on the journey page.
  • Widen the date window or the night range. A fixed weekend is the most expensive way to fly.
  • Add a nearby origin airport. This is where most of the saving is.

If a route was never scanned, please tell us rather than assuming the flights do not exist. Reporting "nothing was found" as "there is nothing" is the failure mode this page exists to prevent.
