An alert has to earn its way to your phone twice. First a rule has to fire, then delivery has to agree that you should be interrupted.
What makes a price worth an alert
- It is under the target price you set for that watch.
- It is well below the recent median for that route, once there is enough history to have a median at all.
- It is an all-time low for that route since we started watching it.
- A new destination on your wishlist came into range.
What stops you being buried
- The same trip does not alert twice within 48 hours, unless it has fallen at least another 10 percent since the last one.
- At most six pushes in any 24 hours across every watch you have. If more qualify, the deepest discounts win and the rest are queued rather than thrown away.
- Nothing is pushed between 23:00 and 07:00 Europe/Vilnius. Queued alerts arrive at 07:00. The one exception is an all-time low that is 25 percent or more below the previous best, which is worth waking up for.
Where alerts arrive
Every alert is recorded in the dashboard under Alerts whatever else is switched on, and written to a file in the outbox on the server, so nothing is ever silently lost. On top of that you can switch on email and, on Pro, Telegram. Channels are chosen in Settings.
Turning the volume down
- Lower the target price on a noisy watch. That is the single most effective control.
- Switch a channel off in Settings. The alert is still recorded, it just stops buzzing.
- Pause or delete a watch you no longer care about.
Times in the interface are shown in Europe/Vilnius. Everything is stored in UTC underneath.
